The Cinematic Collection - Painted to Man With a Movie Camera

Released on 26 May 2003 on Ninja Tune, Man with a Movie Camera is an amazing 2003 soundtrack album by The Cinematic Orchestra. The album is a soundtrack to a re-released version of a 1929 groundbreaking silent documentary film from Soviet director Dziga Vertov. The Cinematic Orchestra were commissioned to score, record and play the work at the opening event in Porto for Portugal's year as European Capital of Culture in 2001. Along with the album release, the DVD 'Man with a Movie Camera' was given a limited release in 2003. It included Vertov's original film, The Cinematic Orchestra's soundtrack, and a documentary.

This is an amazing album of sonic cinematic expression that takes you on a wonderful journey. It has been one of my favourite albums for a long time and it was a joy to paint!

The collection was showcased at Beat Club London in November 2017 along with a live painting display to music for the collections opening night.
